Welcome back to Tea With Me and Friends!

You may remember that we entered our little afternoon tea blog in the UK Blog Awards 2014 and were amazed to make it to the finals. We went to the award ceremony in London back in April and had a wonderful evening, meeting the UK Blog Awards team and other fab bloggers, but sadly we didn't win. Encouraged by your support and the success we experienced last year I am pleased to announce that we have decided to enter the 2015 awards!

The UK Blog Awards are based initially on a public vote, then the top ten blogs in each category are put forward to a professionally judged round - we therefore need your help! The public vote runs between Monday 10th November 2014 until Monday 1st December 2014 and this year we have entered ourselves in two categories:

Food & Drink

Most Innovative

All you need to be able to vote is a valid email address and access to the Internet. You can vote for us just once in each category (multiple votes from the same email address will be disregarded) - but if you want to vote in both categories you can!

We'd love to make it back to the finals again this year, but we really need your help and ask that you follow the links above to cast your vote! We'd love it if you told your friends and family about the awards too!

UK Blog Awards 2014 - we found cake!

Hello there,

Welcome back to another blog post from Tea With Me and Friends......a little earlier this year you might remember me talking rather a lot about the UK Blog Awards that we entered at the end of last year. We were so amazed when we were shortlisted at the beginning of this year and have all our wonderful readers and supporters to thank for that.

As one of the finalists in the Food and Drink category we attended a rather glitzy awards ceremony at The Grange Hotel St Pauls in London on Friday night. There we met a LOT of bloggers! Everyone was very friendly and it was great to actually meet some of the people behind the blogs/tweets that we read! We met the rather lovely Roch and Tash from Next Route Style and also creative cook Colin from My Foodie Blog to name just a few.

We enjoyed a chance to network, eat and drink and then the awards began...

This year we didn't win... but we did get a certificate......

.....and a goodie bag complete with wallpaper and flooring samples (there was also some Twinnings tea bags and a biscuit in there so we were very happy!)......

We'd like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for their support. We started this blog less than a year ago and we're overwhelmed that so many people want to join us on our afternoon tea adventures!

We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who voted for Tea With Me and Friends in the UK Blog Awards. The public vote is now closed and I am delighted to tell you that we were shortlisted!

We our now through to the industry judged round!

I can't tell you how proud I am of this and want to thank everyone who reads our afternoon tea blog for your support and lovely comments. I have met some lovely people writing this blog and been able to experience some wonderful afternoon teas.

New Years Resolutions?

Hello there,

Welcome to 2014! I hope you've had a tea-riffic start to your year!

We thought we'd start the year by thinking of some new year resolutions....not that I particularly believe in resolutions after all they are so easy to break!

I think the obvious resolution is to enjoy more afternoon tea....but that goes without saying really. If you popped by our little blog last year, you'll have seen some of the scrummy teas that we indulged in during 2013. In fact we found it very difficult to pick which was our favourite! But there are so many more afternoon teas out there....including lots of new ones which we will endeavour to sample and share with you.

A personal afternoon tea resolution for me is to learn a little more about tea itself....I enjoy a good cup of tea, but I want to spend 2014 developing my palate a little more so I don't always drink the same old tea. There are so many teas out there to be sampled and I'm hoping to share my education with you.

I would also like to find out a little more about afternoon teas that are served around the world - on Instagram and blog's like the fab Kate and Chelsie blog I see lots of scrummy photos of international teas and I want to learn more!

One final resolution that we've made is to improve on our own afternoon tea making skills. You may have seen one or two of our posts in 2013 where we created our own afternoon teas at home....well we'd really like to add a little more finesse to our feasts. We are hoping to do this by attending the One Aldwych Afternoon Tea Masterclass in February....we can't wait to spend some time learning from Chef Dominic. We'll let you know how we get on in a future blog post!

As well as these resolutions we also have the UK Blog Awards that are currently running - we have entered our little afternoon tea blog in the Food & Drink category and we'd really appreciate your vote!

I also have lots of afternoon tea articles planned for the online magazine PVB Daily - read a new article every Thursday!

We have lots of tea adventures already planned for this year and we hope that you will join us on them!
