Hello there,

Welcome back to Tea With Me and Friends!

You may remember that we entered our little afternoon tea blog in the UK Blog Awards 2014 and were amazed to make it to the finals. We went to the award ceremony in London back in April and had a wonderful evening, meeting the UK Blog Awards team and other fab bloggers, but sadly we didn't win. Encouraged by your support and the success we experienced last year I am pleased to announce that we have decided to enter the 2015 awards!

Tea With Me and Friends

The UK Blog Awards are based initially on a public vote, then the top ten blogs in each category are put forward to a professionally judged round - we therefore need your help! The public vote runs between Monday 10th November 2014 until Monday 1st December 2014 and this year we have entered ourselves in two categories:

Food & Drink

Most Innovative

All you need to be able to vote is a valid email address and access to the Internet. You can vote for us just once in each category (multiple votes from the same email address will be disregarded) - but if you want to vote in both categories you can!

We'd love to make it back to the finals again this year, but we really need your help and ask that you follow the links above to cast your vote! We'd love it if you told your friends and family about the awards too!

What's your favourite sandwich filling?

Hello there and welcome back to Tea With Me and Friends!

We have recently started looking at the humble sandwich, and what part it plays in the afternoon tea feast. In our last article we looked at all the different types of sandwich you can now find within an afternoon tea....they have definitely evolved from the dainty finger sandwich traditionally served with tea.

We currently have a poll running on our side bar...we're interested in knowing what your favourite sandwich filling is. If you have voted yet we'd love to hear from you!

Egg mayonnaise sandwiches are always extremely popular at the afternoon teas that Lorna and I create for our friends. We have one friend in particular who is a really big fan....I'm not sure what she'd do if we served tea without them!

Are there any egg sandwiches in there?

I'm quite partial to coronation chicken sandwiches at tea....a filling that I do not usually have in my sandwiches, so its a lovely treat.

Today's sandwich menu at tea can be so diverse, with venues moving away from the more traditional fillings like egg mayonnaise, cucumber or salmon. Whats the most unusual sandwich filling you've come across? Leave us a comment and let us know!
